Family days out
Irish National Stud and Japanese Gardens: around 15 minutes away. Children love meeting the horses, especially the foals in spring, and the gardens are full of bridges and paths to explore. Read our visitor guide.

The Curragh plains: acres of open grassland for walks, kites and spotting the sheep that graze freely across it.

Our restaurant welcomes families for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there's a dedicated kids' menu. Start the day with a hearty breakfast downstairs before heading out to explore.
Rainy day ideas
Irish weather can change quickly, so it's good to have a plan B. The Kildare Town Heritage Centre on Market Square is a great place to learn about St Brigid and the town, and Newbridge Silverware's Museum of Style Icons is around 10 minutes away. Kildare Village, less than a 10-minute walk from us, is easy to explore whatever the weather.
